Join Plan it Travel on our journey to ancient Edinburgh. We will be guided on a private tour of the city, walk through the halls of Kings and Queens, learn the art of whisky making, and explore the scenic regions of the area. Your Tour Manager will be with you every step of the way. At Plan it Travel, we are dedicated to making your vacation one you will never forget. 

With several planned and included activities each day, we built in some alone time. But of course, your Tour Manager will help you navigate your spare time, ask! Because Edinburgh is built on top of the first city and an ancient volcano, there are uneven roads, sidewalks, and many stairs to climb. The landscape can be tricky for those with uneven gait or mobility issues. On this tour, we will be walking at a moderate pace, up to 4 miles per day. Please keep this in mind when booking.

 U.S. citizens traveling to any destination outside of the United States will be required to present a valid U.S. passport. Passports must be valid for 6 months past the return date. Some countries require a visa for transit or entry. Passengers are responsible to ensure that they have all the proper documents for entry. All names on documents must match the legal name on your photo I.D., and travel document information must match tickets. Please check the State Department website at https://travel.state.gov for further information. Immunizations may also be required. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in denied boarding, denied entry, and/or government-imposed fines. If you are a citizen of another country, there may be additional requirements. Check with the nearest consulate or embassy of the destination you are traveling to and find out the entry requirements for non-U.S. citizens.

Our trips are built around you. The days are partially packed to give you time to explore with the group and on your own. We will begin with breakfast in the hotel. Then, as a group, we will have a private walking tour of Edinburgh. In the afternoon, you will have time to explore the city, have lunch, and walk the ancient roads. We will meet back to tour Edinburgh Castle. After our tour, we will head to our Welcome Dinner! Fancy a nightcap? Talk to your Tour Manager; she will not steer you wrong.

In the morning, we will visit Holyrood Palace. The home of the King and Queen of England when they are in Scotland. This palace dates back thousands of years. As you wind through the halls, you will see famous portraits of Queens from past and present. 

After we visit Holyrood, you will have time on your own. Talk to your Tour Manager about what you can do for the afternoon. Walk with her up Arthur's Seat on a clear day; you will see Edinburgh from a 360 view. If that's not your cup of tea, try one of the many tea shops on the Royal Mile. Or head over to Parliment for a FREE tour! 

Did you know surgery as we know it started in Edinburgh? Later in the afternoon, we will rejoin the group to head to the Surgeon's Museum.  After  the museum you are on your own to explore the city. 

Let's start the day at the National Museum of Scotland. This will be at your own pace and self-guided. Later in the afternoon, we will begin our education session on whisky and why it is important to Scotland. 

On this full-day tour, we will ride through the countryside of Scotland with a local guide. He will show us the area's natural side along with a castle tour and lunch. 

We at Plan it Travel know there may be other things you want to see. On this last day, you will have the morning and afternoon to do what you want. Your Tour Manager will have some activities planned. If you decide to adventure on your own, we welcome that. The Tour manager will also suggest where to go and what to see. 

In the evening, you will come together for our last guided experience in the "lost" city of Edinburgh. After we will have our final dinner together.
